DC Live! Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, Part 6 Livestream
The good news is that I finished Rydia’s chapter in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years and Yang’s chapter is much more enjoyable from a gameplay perspective. The bad news is that The After Years continues to have a terrible story. I’m only three chapters in, but I’ve come to the conclusion that this game is little more than a badly written fan fiction sequel that didn’t need to exist. This follow up has very few new ideas and apes heavily from the original game’s plot. Everyone is weirdly out of character and it feels like they haven’t learned a single lesson from the events in the original Final Fantasy IV.
If I’m having these revelations three chapters into a thirteen chapter game, going downhill from here must mean sliding into an abyss of frustration. Still, I’ll soldier on since many of you seem to enjoy watching me play this game.
