DC Live! Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, part 3

The Dracula’s fortress traveled, I now lay siege to Dracula. How fitting for National Boss’s Day.

Given that all we have to do is kill said boss, if it doesn’t take 3 hours to get there we will use a password to jump to the Alucard route and do as many of the five stages we haven’t streamed yet as possible before the stream hits its normal end time.

Two years ago, as part of our guilt-induced SNES coverage, I bested Super Castlevania IV for the first time. Last year, I cemented the tradition by defeating its 8-bit demake by way of temporal paradox, Castlevania for the first time as well.

October has come again, and with it another Castlevania game I never beat has entered the ring (pentacle?) to be conquered. Dracula’s Curse is the penultimate unbeaten 2D Castlevania game for this feature; we still have Castlevania Chronicles to do next year, but after that I have to come up with a new idea.

And no, Dracula XX doesn’t count because I did beat Rondo of Blood. And what nonsense are you talking about now? There’s no Castlevanias on the original Game Boy.

Get a glimpse of what’s at stake for Dracula on the blog’s Twitch channel at 8 p.m. Eastern.

At some point, a recording of this stream will be up on Damage Control’s YouTube channel and embedded below.
