DC Live! Final Fantasy VI CES challenge post-game, part 3

Those of you who have seen part 2 know it was a mind-blasting experience. But even if it comes down to pure RNG, the work cannot be left undone. And everything would have been fine if Tose had done a proper job of fixing the Vanish bug in this version instead of the multiple half-measures they introduced. If you want me to REALLY get into it, feel free to ask me on the stream.

For those who don’t remember (after all, this was 9½ years ago), the CES challenge involves beating the second half of Final Fantasy VI using the minimum possible number of party members: Celes, Edgar and Setzer. Being 5 years prior to the existence of our Twitch channel, the game was played offline with the results simply being blogged about, though there were a few low-rez YouTube clips to illustrate points.

Two years later, I hatched a plan to return to the challenge to try to extend it into the Advance versions new post-game challenge content and superbosses. A plan that remained untouched for 7 years until this month.

To see if only Celes can smite the dragon, tune in to the blog’s Twitch channel at 9 Eastern.

At some point, a recording of this stream will be up on Damage Control’s YouTube channel and embedded below.
