DC Live! Bleach: Soul Resurrección Livestream
Happy Halloween everyone! Tonight we’re streaming a very fitting game for All Hallow’s Eve, Bleach: Soul Resurrección. A few months ago the Twitch chat actually requested that I play a Bleach game. None of my options looked good as every game I owned would have been difficult to stream on original hardware without buying HDMI adapters. Fortunately, a friend of mine had a copy of Bleach: Soul Resurrección on PS3 that he let me borrow for this specific purpose. I figured I’d stream Soul Resurrección after SMT: Devil Summoner Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army and it turned out to be good fortune that I finished that game last week.
There were about 25 Bleach games released between consoles, handhelds, and mobile devices. Of those 25, only six made their way to North America. Soul Resurrección was one of the last games to make it out of Japan. It was developed by Sony’s Japan Studio and published by NIS America in 2011. It is an action hack and slash game that roughly covers the events of the manga/anime from the time Sousuke Aizen betrays the Soul Society until his showdown with Ichigo Kurosake. The game received an average reception from critics and fans. As far as story there isn’t much, so hopefully the action is enjoyable.
One of the original reasons I didn’t buy Soul Resurrección for myself a decade ago was that I wanted to play a fighting game on the PS3 in the same style as the Bleach: Heat the Soul series on PSP. Sure, we got Bleach: Shattered Blade on the Wii, but it was a rather subpar fighter. I don’t know if my opinion of this PS3 game will change, but I’m willing to try it for the sake of a Twitch challenge.
