DC Live! Hades, Part 1
After having successfully finished Doki Doki Literature Club on Sunday, we’re moving on to Hades. I have been waiting to play this game for a while. In case you haven’t heard, Hades is Supergiant Games fourth title. This action RPG rouge-like was released on Steam via early access in December 2019. It was officially released this year for PC (including Mac) and Switch on September 17. The praise this game received has been nearly universal.
Zagreus is the son of Hades. Having had enough of his father, he tries to make a run for Mount Olympus by escaping from the Underworld. He is aided in his quest by various gods who will bestow him with gifts. This is where the rouge-like elements of the game come into play. Multiple runs must be made in order to escape and death isn’t the end as Zargreus is immortal. Each new run brings new enemies and weapons. Also, each failure brings a removal of the gifts Zagreus receives.
