Naughty and Nice ’23 No. 6: Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Damage Control.

This is, quite clearly, the Christmas greeting from Damage Control Blog, a tradition started a whole 15 years ago in 2008. Hopefully you got everything you wanted for Christmas this year, even if your wish was merely for a day off. Some people don’t even get that. What a world.

It’s been a rough year, as it’s been since… well, who knows. Who can even remember the last year that most people agreed was good? It’s ideally a day for you to relax and spend some time with the family, or by yourself in welcome solitude.

This year’s holiday picture is from the late Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier. It’s brought to you by me saying “Oh crap, I have no idea of what picture to use this year” yesterday evening, until I stumbled upon it. It’s a somewhat fitting one from a dearly departed project that’s part of the Final Fantasy VII resurgence following the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake. It’s part of the new Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Also consider this part of the anticipation for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which is coming in February. I won’t be playing it right away, but maybe you, who’s reading this, will be.

I’ll leave you with “Medley of Christmas Final Fantasy: Record Keeper Ver. arrange from FFVII” from, well, the late Final Fantasy Record Keeper, in keeping with the FFVII theme. (I mean, someone has to preserve these dead mobile games in some way.) This one is linked to from the Square Enix Music YouTube account, so there’s no way it will be deleted from the platform later. Or so I believe.
