Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Hopefully you all got what you wanted this year, even if it’s just rest and relaxation. Whatever it is, you’ve earned it after venturing and living through a year that’s perpetually been on fire — figuratively and literally. From the COVID-19 pandemic to worldwide economic recessions to signs of climate change to everything else documented in our Naughty and Nice series this year, 2020 has been the closest we’ve seen to a hell on Earth in our generation. It’s a pity that so many of us can’t see the family this year thanks to the pandemic, but if all goes well, we should be able to responsibly do that soon.
The top image is holiday-themed artwork from Splatoon featuring the Inklings, posted by Nintendo on their Twitter account. Plenty of companies haven’t put much effort into their holiday greeting cards this year, with examples like adding Santa hats to existing promotional images. I like it when they’re original like this.

I will leave you with this Christmas rendition of Dearly Beloved from the Kingdom Hearts series, posted by series composer Yoko Shimomura on her YouTube channel just this morning. It’s short, but sweet enough to replay multiple times. Christmas songs from other Square Enix albums keep being deleted from YouTube through copyright claims, but I have a feeling nothing will happen to this one.
