Doing Damage Control at Video Game Expo 2008

On Friday and Saturday Geoff and I teamed up to take Video Game Expo 2008 by storm (more or less). While I returned on Sunday for a few last day goodies. We played a few games, attended a keynote address or two, and not much else. Going into VGXPO 2008 I didn’t have high hopes, but I was pleasantly surprised. VGXPO was no E3 but it was still a decent video game show nonetheless. Other than long lines for everything there was plenty to do. As an added bonus there was also a small anime convention (Anime-Games Festival) that was sponsored by Zenkaikon.
All in all, Geoff and I took a few pictures and I recorded some audio from the “State of the Industry” panel on Sunday. With almost two hours of audio to comb through, the best is yet to come. For now, please enjoy this small audio Flash slideshow presentation that I put together. Expect additional content over the Thanksgiving break (if work doesn’t kill me first).

So why did you have to do “damage control” at VGXpo?
It’s actually (not a very good) a pun on the name of this blog. If anything, we were bums at VGEXPO, minus the small number of events that we covered.
